Ferrosilicon is a necessary metallurgical product for steelmaking and casting. The main models are divided into ferrosilicon 75 and ferrosilicon 72 . What is the difference between them?

75 ferrosilicon is often said 75A model ferrosilicon;

72 ferrosilicon is often said 75C model ferrosilicon.

Generally speaking, 75# and 72# ferrosilicon are only ferrosilicon with silicon content of 75% and 72%.  75 ferrosilicon is the silicon content in 74-80% is the so-called hard 75, 72 ferrosilicon is the silicon content in 72-80% is soft 75.

1、Ferrosilicon is an indispensable deoxidizer in steelmaking industry.

2、Used as a inoculant and spheroidizing agent in the cast iron industry, ferrosilicon 75 is an important inoculant (aid in graphite precipitation) and spheroidizing agent in the production of nodular cast iron.  As a reducing agent in ferroalloy production, the chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen is very high, and the carbon content of high silicon ferrosilicon is very low.  Therefore, high silicon ferrosilicon (or siliceous alloy) is a commonly used reducing agent in the production of low carbon ferroalloy in ferroalloy industry.

3,ferrosilicon 75 is often used in the high temperature smelting process of magnesium in pijiang process, replacing magnesium in CAo.MGO, and consuming about 1.2 tons of ferrosilicon for every ton of magnesium metal, which plays a great role in the production of magnesium metal.  Use in other ways.  Pulverized or atomized ferrosilicon powder can be used as suspended phase in mineral processing industry.  Can be used as electrode coating in electrode manufacturing.  High silicon ferrosilicon in the chemical industry can be used to manufacture silicone and other products.
