After deoxidization of silica-calcium alloy, large and easy-to-float non-metallic inclusions are produced, and the shape and properties of non-metallic inclusions are changed. Therefore, silica-calcium alloy is used to produce clean steel,  steel with low oxygen and sulfur content, and special performance steel with extremely low oxygen and sulfur content. It can also control the form of sulfide in steel and improve the utilization rate of calcium. In cast iron production, silicon-calcium alloy in addition to deoxidization and purification, but also play a role in inoculation, contribute to the formation of fine or spherical graphite; The distribution of graphite in gray cast iron is uniform and the tendency of white mouth is reduced. And can increase silicon, desulfurization, improve the quality of cast iron.
