The metal manganese obtained by electrolysis after treating manganese powder with chemical raw materials such as sulfuric acid is called "electrolytic manganese", which is a chemical process. Manganese carbonate and other manganese compounds in manganese ore become metal manganese.

The purity of electrolytic manganese is higher than that of metal manganese. Electrolytic manganese generally has a purity of 99.7% or 99.9%.
