Ferrochrome is a ferroalloy composed of chromium and iron. It has the characteristics of hardness, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. It is mainly used as an alloy additive in steelmaking. Granularity of natural blocks, each weight shall not be more than 15 kg, size less than 20*20mm of the weight of ferrochrome block shall not exceed 5% of the total weight of ferrochrome.

The use of ferrochrome mainly has the following aspects:

(1) mainly used in the production of stainless steel, 200 series stainless steel chromium content is about 16%, 300 series stainless steel chromium content is about 25%, 400 series stainless steel chromium content is about 14%.

(2) Used as an alloying agent for ball steel, tool steel and high speed steel with high carbon content, to improve the hardenability of steel, increase the wear resistance and hardness of steel;

(3) used as an additive for cast iron, improve the wear resistance and hardness of cast iron, and make cast iron have good heat resistance

(4) Used as the chromium containing raw material for the slag-free production of Si-Cr alloy and medium, low and micro carbon ferrochromium;

(5) Used as raw material containing chromium in electrolysis production of metal chromium; Used as raw material for smelting stainless steel by oxygen blowing.
