Silicon-manganese alloy

Silicon-manganese alloy is an alloy composed of manganese, silicon, iron and a small amount of carbon and other elements. Silicon-manganese alloy is a composite deoxidizer commonly used in steelmaking, and it is also a reducing agent for low-carbon ferromanganese and electro-silicon thermal production of metal manganese in production. Silicon-manganese alloys can be smelted by continuous operation in large, medium and small submerged arc furnaces.
There are more silico-manganese in southwest China, such as Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi and Hunan. The raw materials for the production of silicon-manganese alloys are manganese ore, manganese-rich slag, silica, coke, etc.

Application of silicon manganese alloy:


     Silicon manganese alloy is mainly used as the intermediate material of deoxidizer and alloying agent in iron and steel production, and also the main raw material for medium and low carbon ferromanganese production.


The production method of silicon manganese alloy:


     Silicon-manganese alloys are refined and produced by simultaneously reducing manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag) and manganese oxide and silicon dioxide in silica with carbon in submerged arc furnace.
