Metal silicon use

   Metal silicon , also known as crystalline silicon or industrial silicon, is mainly used as an additive in non-ferrous alloys. Industrial silicon is also used as an alloying agent for exacting silicon steel and as a deoxidizer for smelting special types of steel and non-ferrous alloys.

    Metal silicon is mainly composed of silicon, so it has similar properties with silicon. Metall silicon has semiconductor properties similar to germanium, lead and tin. Metallic silicon is used in the production of organic silicon, making high-purity semiconductor materials and preparing alloys for special purposes. Common uses include:

(1) Production of silicone rubber, silicone resin, silicone oil and other organic silicon.

(2) Manufacture high purity semiconductors.

(3) Alloy preparation.
